On our new 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2250RK tonight. Despite a number of “interested” parties we didn’t see a single offer on the Hi-Lo so it’s getting traded in. Here’s a little vid of what we’re getting ourselves into:

I like that the video starts by featuring the built-in coffin. That’s called “knowing the RV market.”
You never know when Earl’s going to buy the farm while leveling the trailer, and I’ll be damned if I’m taking him to the hospital in this po-dunk town! Is it refrigerated?
That is awesome. Probably nicer than my real home :D

That’s fun. Too bad you couldn’t sell you hi-lo. If I were in the market for a camper I probably would have gone for it, but alas I am not.
Looked up your new one and it looks nice, but I do have one question.
Why? I feel that more storage is infinitely more useful when camping than a faux fireplace.

Very nice.

I think it’s because the retracting TV. They couldn’t find anything better to put there,

“We added this mostly useless feature so we need to add another useless feature”
I enjoy camping, and having a trailer is nice, but do people really hang out in their trailers that much? I think the only time we ever do anything in my parents trailer is when we are sleeping or if it’s pouring out. Otherwise we even cook outside usually.

We tend to do much of the same when we camp. I would love a nice interior on a trailer because it does get so hot in the Southeast. It would also be what I would use to go to BBQ competitions, 4x4 trips, etc.

Yeah it houses both the TV and the fireplace. We’re planning on possibly living in it for a few months during the moving process so some creature comforts are nice. And that infrared unit draws little power and heats the space quite nicely.

Hah I’ve never heard it referred to as that, but that one compartment has more storage than the entirety of the Hi-Lo. One good selling point for sure ;)

Thanks!

Interdasting layout

Yea, I can see that being a bonus if you’re planning on living in it. But even then, I’d personally prefer the TV just to be fixed and have more cabinet space instead of a fireplace.

Wow, that is a sweet camper. I’d be afraid to ask what one of those go for. But it definitely looks like a huge upgrade from the old Hi-Lo.

The layout is what got us on this unit. It was the only one in our size class that has usable counter space, and the drawer under the fridge has two built-in dog bowls. I also really like how huge the bathroom is compared to the competition

The models with fixed TVs always had a flaw that we deemed showstoppers; generally that the TV itself, as a ‘centerpiece’ in the ‘central entertainment unit’, was not in direct line-of-sight for any of the seats. What’s the point of having a TV if you have to crane your neck to watch? At least this way, when we want TV, it’s right there in front of us. And when we don’t? Put the fucker away

I’m starting to think you aren’t moving here after all

We got a reasonable discount off the MSRP which really helped. We got shit for trade on the Hi-Lo which didn’t.

Oh we are. The new camper is part of the plan; we need somewhere to live between selling the Denver house and buying the Gig Harbor house

Tiny home living! Very modern.

Ain’t gonna lie it has a better layout, has more storage, and is overall just nicer than our 1200 sq ft house.

Yeah, car dealers can be crazy stingy on trade-ins, I can only imagine that RV dealers are worse. It’s unfortunate because it looks like you kept it in amazing shape. Even so the demand, and thus the trade in value, for a 20+ year old camper trailer just isn’t going to be very high. But I’m honestly surprised you never got any serious offers for it, because it really was pretty cool, even if it was unfortunately dated.

They don’t even look at trades. They do a sight-unseen offer based on a percentage of the NADA base unit value.

that tv is trick as hell

It also comes with free Reefer!

Shit, we forgot the toilet! Quick, shove it in the corner where someone can come out of the bedroom and have a perfect view of your junk!
![]() 05/30/2018 at 13:00 |

Someone coming out of the bedroom already has perfect views of my junk; not a problem

LOL! It’s not that hard, people!
This stands at 11'3", so I won’t do anything under 12". I’ve been trailering all my life with none of these little accidents , I don’t plan on starting now

I didn’t mean to suggest that you are a klutz, but those things are BIG!
And the guy in that video manages to destroy his truck, as well.

Does the girl come along with the trailer? Set it up for you and such?
I see you’re trading up from a hi/lo. We have a tent trailer, a Coleman Sedona. We haven’t used it for three years, except as a guest room in our driveway, for which purpose it excels.

Hah if she did, I don’t think my wife would mind
On average we spend 45 days camping (not including drive time) per year. When not in use, yes they do make excellent guest accommodations :)
